How Do You Do It

A video made in 1995 for the use of dancers, which demonstrates the RSCDS method of performing the following dances:

Los Angles Branch 75th Demo 19/4/98

Los Angles Branch event to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the RSCDS held on 19/4/98. 100 dancers from Los Angles, orange County, San Diego and San Gabriel Valley took part in an open air dancing demonstration, dancing Mrs. Stewart's Jig, Miss Milligan's Strathspey, Duke of Atholl's Reel and the Reel of the Royal Scots.

Rock n' Reel.

A display of Scottish Country Dancing and Modern Ballroom Dancing presented jointly by the Anita Mackenzie and Diane Isherwood Dancers. Held in the Albert Hall, Stirling on 30.10.04. The Country Dance sequences are introduced by Dr. A Macfadyen. The country Dances demonstrated are: The Faraway Isle, Hebridean Weaving Lilt (Johan MacLean singing), Flowers of Edinburgh ( Janet Johnston Solo) Men's Foursome Reel and Tulloch (John Wilkinson, Alan Macpherson, Robin Lambie, Derek Macfarlane), Strathspey, New Parliament House Jig, Waltz Country Dance (Johan MacLean Singing), Twasome (John and Roby Wilkinson), Recumbent Stone.

Grampian Television Interview with Jean Milligan

Part of a Grampian TV series made in the 1970s which traced the origins and development of Scottish Dance. Here Jean Milligan is interviewed by the programme presenter about the origins of the RSCDS. VHS tape quality was poor and this is reflected in the digitised extract. The original programme video recording was destroyed by Grampian TV.

President's Reception 1/7/98

The RSCDS President's Reception to mark the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the Society. Held in the Great Hall, Stirling Csatle. Adresses by the Presient, Lord Mansfield and the Chairman, William Clemment. Programme of Music, Song and Dance introduced by Dr. A Macfadyen. Dancers from the Stirling Branch of the RSCDS. Singers: Elizabeth Harry and William Williamson. Running Time 1.05hr VHS tape quality was very poor and this is reflected in the digitised extract.

Commercially produced video showing three different genres of Scottish Dance; Old Time from Arbroath Town Hall with the Steven Carcary Duo, Scottish Country Dancing from Dufftown Memorial Hall with the Ian Cruickshanks Band and Ceilidh Dancing from Helensburgh with the Tandem Ceilidh Band.

Reel Scottish Dancing

An instructional video which is suitable for both experienced dances and those new to this dance style. The video explains how to dance reels, jigs and strathspeys and includes a helpful commentary. The Steps are walked out and shown in slow motion and the most frequently used formations demonstrated with many walked through. 34 dances which appear frequently on dance programmes are demonstrated.
