The People's Journal Album of Scottish Country Dances 4 October 1930

The illustrated album was included as a free gift with the Journal, published by John Leng and Co., Dundee and London. A modern interpretation by the Membership Services Committee of dances from "Heart of Midlothian" leaflet of 1820 and of two dances from "Five Favorite Country Dances for 1822" leaflet published by Nathanial Gow. The original instructions for the dances are provided.

Grampian Television Interview with Jean Milligan

Part of a Grampian TV series made in the 1970s which traced the origins and development of Scottish Dance. Here Jean Milligan is interviewed by the programme presenter about the origins of the RSCDS. VHS tape quality was poor and this is reflected in the digitised extract. The original programme video recording was destroyed by Grampian TV.

Reel Scottish Dancing

An instructional video which is suitable for both experienced dances and those new to this dance style. The video explains how to dance reels, jigs and strathspeys and includes a helpful commentary. Fette et Jeux du Berry Festival du Nohant 1959

Leaflet and programme, including French newspaper cutting reporting on the participation of the Clan Hay Dancers in the Festival de Nohant. A souvenir booklet for a "Grand Scottish Concert" held in the Usher Hall Edinburgh on 9th August, 1958 in in aid of the Delgatie Castle (Clan Hay Centre) restoration fund. The booklet contains shot histories of Delgatie castle and the Clan Hay.

Anna Marshall's Strathspey

A 32 bar strathspey for 3 couples in a 4 couple set. Devised by Alan Macpherson in 2017 to recognise the contribution of Anna Marshall to the running of the Falkirk Branch Weekend over a period of 25 years. First performed at the 25th anniversary weekend at Crieff Hydro on 19th January 2018. Original tune by Gordon Shand.

Balance and Swing

A personal selection of Square, Contra and Triple time dances in the "New England Tradition" with a tune for each dance. Included is an extensive introduction which gives a historical perspective and a commentary on the New England Tradition on the Boston Area. Appendix 1 grades the dances with regard to suitability and dancer competence. Two other appendices contain a detailed list of suitable recorded music for the dances. An index of included music is provided. Published by the Country Dance and Song Society of America, New York 1982.
